accountability

it's worth noting that despite a growing mound of evidence that abuse at abu ghraib dates back to 2002, when the u.s. first gained control of the prison, and one year before the soldiers who have been criminally prosecuted for the abuse even arrived in iraq, no one else is being charged in the abu ghraib scandal. i can't find any sign that anyone else is even subject to any criminal investigation right now. on the contrary, the bush administration seems to think that drafting the policy that led to the abuse at abu ghraib and elsewhere justifies a cabinet appointment.
