nur al-cubicle has a translation of giuliana sgrena's account of what happened as she rode towards the american checkpoint on friday after being released by iraqi insurgents.
as a bonus, nur also throws in a few she-got-what-she-had-coming-to-her type comments from soldiers' blogs. and, in the comments to nur's post, the liberal avenger notes that michelle malkin thinks sgrena's kidnapping was faked.
personally, i think sgrena's vehicle was shot because of a terrible mistake. who knows whether there were any warning shots, hand signals, whatever. what seems rather clear to me is that this kind of thing happens a lot in iraq, usually killing iraqi civilians rather than high profile italian journalists.
