dim

how many posts will i milk out of the yahoo news headlines? i just did it the other day with this one. i guess it's only natural. the top 3 yahoo headlines display on my work computer home page whenever i start up my browser. every once in a while one catches my eye, usually as i'm trying to do something else, and compels me to write something snide.

today what caught my eye was "Bush dismisses Qaeda tape, says Zawahri 'dark, dim'". the thought that the war on terrorism (or whatever they're calling it today) had descended to the level of bush calling al-qaeda people names was just so filled with comic potential, i could not resist clicking on the article. alas, the headline was a little misleading. bush apparently called zawahri's ideology "dark" and "dim" (and "backwards" too. why did the those yahoos at yahoo cut "backwards"?).

so this post was originally supposed to make fun of the president, but instead i'm making fun of yahoo news for taking a rather substance-less presidential statement and making it sound even stupider than it already was. i guess with a name like "yahoo news" i shouldn't expect much more.
