it's been five days since sharon first had his stroke and the fact that this is still getting wall-to-wall coverage is really surprising. sure, sharon is important, but for most of yesterday the top news story when i opened my browser was something along the lines of "sharon moves his arm"
israel obviously plays a major role in the middle east and the middle east is an important region of the world. so the health problems of the israeli leader are certainly newsworthy. but i can't imagine coverage like this for any other foreign leader. especially when, on a day by day basis, so little seems to be actually happening with sharon.
(i should add that i was a little hesitant to post about this, for fear of bringing all the "jews control the media" wackos out of the woodwork. but this post has been banging around in my head for the past 24 hours and so i gotta let it out before it soils the rug or something)
