cesca notes the missing end date and wonders whether bush has heard of the 22nd amendment.
it's funny, but i took the photo completely differently. when i saw the zoomed in shot of the inscription, i wasn't thinking about any possibility that bush might not leave office at the end of his second term. rather it reminded me of the possibility of his assassination or impeachment before 2008. that strikes me as the more plausible reason for leaving the second year off.
but i wonder what the president thought it meant. if i were him, i would think it looked a little ominous.
