so i loved wristcutters: a love story. the film takes place in the special purgatory where people who commit suicide go. the main character ends up there after slitting his wrists over the girl he loves. while he's there he discovers that his true love killed herself shortly after he did. and so, along with a russian musician who electrocuted himself on stage, he sets out on road trip across the land of the suicides, picking up strange characters along the way. i might be going out on a limb here, but i think it was the best afterlife road movie i have ever seen.
as an added bonus, i ran into dave at the screening. i never would have seen him if he didn't Q during the Q and A. and so i dragged him off with me to drinking liberally. unfortunately, i couldn't see fuck with him afterwards. i really want to see that one, but it looks like none of the times will work for me. if i'm lucky it will get voted into the best of the fest and i can try to catch it then
UPDATE: dave says "fuck" got a distributor. so i'm sure i'll get the chance to see it after all.
