a lot of people have been writing about alan dershowitz's stunning defense of killing lebanese civilians. alan jumped the shark for me since he became the chief advocate for torture outside of the bush administration. but his newest work, in which he seems to be saying that clear non-combatants, including children, should be seen as valid military targets, reaches a new record level of cruelty with intellectual pretensions.
anyway, far more articulate people have already dealt with this. i recommend kung fu monkey's bar talk (which i found via roxanne), digby's civilian continuum, and billmon's apologist for war crimes? it depends.
read all three and that's pretty much sums up all i have to say.
