A senior administration official said that fewer than 100 people have been detained under the CIA program, rejecting allegations that perhaps thousands have been held in secret prisons. With the transfer of the 14 detainees to Guantanamo, the CIA is no longer holding any suspects, the administration official said. He added, however, that the administration wants the program to continue.well, it looks like they missed a couple.
i know, i know, before the administration was only talking about CIA run prisons, but bush sure made it seem like those 14 were the only ones held by the u.s. in any sort of extra-judicial capacity. so my question is, why should we believe only 14,000 are being held now? i mean, if they were off by a factor of 1000 last time around, how many more are still out there?
