misleading previews

this is another thing i thought about posting earlier today. now that i'm finished puking, i guess i might as well write it now.

before the syrian bride, i saw the preview for divine intervention. i forgot how much i liked that preview (you can see it for yourself here). when i first saw it, it made me really want to see the film. from the natacha atlas soundtrack, to how it promised to be an absurdist look at the west bank occupation. i eventually saw the film and was really disappointed. it turned out to be more disjointed than clever. the best visual bits were all in the preview (and the "i got a spell on you" cover was completely absent)

so anyway, i was thinking of making a list of misleading trailers. actually, i ripped off the idea from the filmspotting podcast. they came up with the idea after reviewing the break-up, a film that i never saw. the plan is to get you to come up with good examples for me, then i'll plagiarize them onto a list, take credit for it, and send it in. leave me your examples in the comments.
