i uploaded the above picture into my flickr account about a year ago. the photo was taken in a narrow street in the christian quarter of aleppo, syria. when i originally labeled the photo i said the sign marked an armenian family home.
this week a random person posting as Alain_84 saw the photo, recognized it, and left a series of comments helping me to identify what it really was. it turns out, the sign gives the name of an armenian primary school that Alain_84 used to attend.
