election day

i voted this morning, #49 as of 30 minutes after the polls opened. not too bad for my little precinct.

i'm trying not to get too optimistic about this election. actually, no matter what happens, i'm just glad the campaign season is finally over. as much as i like politics, the campaigns themselves get dull real fast. the last frantic days usually just get me anxious to get the whole thing over with.

i'll briefly drop by the philly drinking liberally tonight. everyone is invited. it's at tangier, 18th and lombard, 6 pm until later. i skipped last week and then later learned that someone came looking for me. tonight i'll be there for the first hour. so if you're trying to avoid me make sure to arrive after 7 p.m. tonight. this might be your last chance for a little while. starting next week i should be a reliable regular again.

the good thing to remember about this election is that no matter what happens, it really can't get any worse than it already is.

the bad thing to remember is that even if the democrats win big, bush will still pretty much do whatever he wants. and the dems will still be a bunch of weenies who won't stand up against him. make no mistake, i want the democrats to win big tonight. just remember that it won't be enough to fix all that is wrong with our government.
