fast food nation turned out to be pretty mediocre as a movie. i really liked the book and had doubts whether it would work at all as a fictional movie. it turns out those doubts were well founded.
there's a particularly gruesome scene near the end, when you finally see the cattle slaughterhouse killing floor. but the most disturbing part of all was the absence of the "no animals were harmed in the making of this film" language in the closing credits.
