Blast at U.S. embassy called 'terrorism'what the hell else would you call it?
it reminds me of the news reports after the oklahoma city bombing. i remember listening to people on the radio debating whether the attack was caused by "terrorists." "of course they're terrorists, it was a terrorist attack!" i yelled at the radio. what they were really wondering is whether the perpetrator were middle eastern. that seemed to be part of what they thought "terrorist" meant.
i guess it does say something that we're now willing to call greeks "terrorists", notwithstanding the fact that they're european and mostly christian. but considering that the designation is enough to merit a headline, it suggests that some still view this as a close call. after all, the greeks are swarthy, eat baklava, and drink thick coffee out of a demi-tasse. plus they live next to a sea that, rumor has it, also borders a lot of muslim countries.
