it seems like every couple of months, another story comes out about how the bush administration rebuffed an offer by iran to help the u.s.
this one's a doozy too. from what i can gather from the news reports, the deal would have given the u.s. almost every concession it's demanded from iran. at the very least it would have been worth exploring. cheney's role in shooting it down from the start just confirms my believe that he is the worst strategist in the known universe. and i'm not just saying that because this probably contributed to the fucked-upness of my current vacation plans.
