i wonder what's the least popular war in american history?
64% of americans now think that the iraq war is not worth fighting. that seems phenomenally large to me, but i wonder how it compares to other wars. i mean, i know vietnam was not a very popular war, but were almost 2/3 of americans ever against it?
...i just googled up this article that seems to indicate that the unpopularity of vietnam peaked in the period from 1971-73 when 60-61% thought that the u.s. "made a mistake" by sending troops to vietnam. it's not exactly the same question as the iraq poll, but it strikes me as being pretty similar.
was there any other war in american history less popular than vietnam and/or iraq?
