you're it!

i'm considering tagging my post, though blogger doesn't call them "tags," it calls them "labels." the reason i didn't start using them immediately after this site converted to new blogger is because i thought that tagged posts would make this site much too convenient for its readers. i'm more about making things difficult for people. i also considered labeling every post i wrote "broccoli." that way i could use the label function, while simultaneously rendering it completely useless.

but suddenly i see the appeal of labeling. it would be fun to try to cram everything i write into some bullshit category. also after i cross the label rubicon, i could announce to everyone that i will to go back and methodically label all 2,214 of my prior posts. then i could label a bunch of old posts for a couple of weeks before dropping the ball and leaving most of the archives unlabeled. i'm all about starting ambitious projects and then never getting around to finishing them. (in theory, i am still labeling and tagging my syria flickr set, though in reality i haven't done anything with it for almost a year. and the syria labeling project itself was a break from my larger flickr project of uploading my entire travel photo archive. it's been about 2 years since i worked on that. the vietnam set has been 1/2 complete for almost two years)

anyway, i've been bouncing the tag idea around in my head for a couple of weeks now but i still have no idea what to do about it. so what do you think, dear readers? i figure i can solicit the advice of you guys (you know, make you feel like you're part of this blog), and then ignore whatever you have to say.

so let me know what you think. your call is important to us.

the only thing more fun than tagging a post is posting about tagging.
