this is ridiculous. while i don't support musharraf, i can understand that the president might have strategic reasons that make him want to continue to back him. and while i think those reasons are ultimately wrong, they are at least something that reasonable people can argue about.
but it's simply absurd to claim that a guy who suspended the constitution, beat and arrested political opponents and imposed martial law to prevent the supreme court from ruling against him has "advanced democracy in pakistan." how stupid do you think we are?
i think the main reason that president bush is viewed as a moron is because he regularly insults the intelligence of the american people. either he thinks americans are a bunch of idiots who would believe such a ridiculous spin or he's an idiot for actually believing it himself.
