over the last few days the folks at sadly no! have been dedicating their blog to mocking the lunacy of doughy pantload's new book.
but the thing that i find truly bizarre is how goldberg wrote this entire book to try to pin the label "fascist" on liberals, as if the label itself is what's wrong with being fascist. and it's funny how by doing so he has watered down the definition of the term "fascism" so much, he manages to take out all the stuff that makes fascism so awful. the reason why hitler was bad is not because he was a vegetarian, or that there were members of his nazi party who cared about the environment, or that his administration increased funding for public education, it was because he ordered the deaths of millions of people.
in reading excerpts of his book (as well as the well-deserved mocking that follows) it's hard not to come away with the impression that this guy is a profoundly stupid individual, desperate to don the mantle of an intellectual. and it says a lot that this guy has done so well for himself in the modern conservative movement.
