i'm pleasantly surprised that chavez conceded defeat in the venezuelan referendum so quickly with such a close vote.
the referendum seemed to be heading for a nasty showdown, the polls showed it to be really really close and chavez didn't invite election observers to monitor the vote. i was really expecting the vote to result in two sides each claiming victory, with chavez ultimately just doing what he wanted, the opposition screaming about fraud and with the rest of us never sure who really won. i'm glad it didn't go that way. and chavez has finally showed us what he does when he loses a vote.
