in an effort to escape presidential primary crap, i've been reading articles about kenya. my overall sense is that the violence has ebbed and that most of the action right now seems to be with the politicians as they try to negotiate a political solution. so i guess that counts as "improving."
but that still leaves hundreds of thousands of people displaced, a looming health crisis, and the aftermath hitting the economy of kenya's neighbors pretty hard--possibly leading to a regional economic downturn in one of the poorer regions of the world.
oh, and just a couple of hours ago, my brother left to spend two months in kenya. my sister won't get there for another week or two.
