while i was convinced that the kenyan vote was stolen, i wasn't sure if kibaki himself was involved. but by naming his cabinet like this, i don't think there's any serious question that he's now trying to grab power at all costs and making things worse in the process.
and in a related story, i was curious what my favorite fruitcake on the right's take was on the republican primary, so i dropped by atlas shrugs. i haven't peeked in for a while, months actually. it's sad to see that the blog that i once thought was so entertaining in a crazed semi-delusional way, now has devolved into little more than an anti-muslim hate site. she always had it out for islam, but now it seems like she doesn't have much else but that.
in any case, i was surprised to see just how much she has written about the current crisis in kenya, but all of it is through her bizarre anti-muslim lense. see, in pam's twisted world odinga is a secret muslim agent. it seems that she first got the idea because odinga is a luo, just like barak obama's father was. since obama is also a secret muslim, his fellow tribesman odinga must be trying to impose shariah on kenya. (in actuality most luo are christian, and odinga is anglican). later, she filled in the gaps, touting the memorandum of understanding allegedly entered into between odinga and kenyan muslim leaders which has since been dismissed as a forgery in kenya.
i guess the stolen election and violence between different christian groups in kenya is really just about islam. is there anything that isn't?
