obama: not just happytalk

i'm not on the obama bandwagon yet (or any bandwagon for that matter), but i keep reading obama critics on the left claiming that he hasn't done anything but adopt bipartisan happytalk. that's not my impression at all. last october, hilzoy had a good post outlining his legislative accomplishments in the u.s. senate and today charles peters has a piece about his accomplishments in the illinois statehouse. (as scott lemieux points out, it's quite a contrast with the stupid and pandering legislation hillary clinton has sponsored).
