jeopardy

three days into heavy fighting between the mahdi army, other militias, the iraq army and the u.s. military and i'm still seeing headings proclaiming sadr's "cease fire [is] in jeopardy" (scroll down to the last heading).

it seems rather clear to me that the cease fire is over because, well, the fire just isn't ceasing. it could stop again. but that would be a new cease fire. it couldn't be the old one holding when there is non-ceased fire in between. why are reporters so reluctant to call it like it so obviously is?
