the problem with referring to someone as "al-masri" ("the egyptian") is that there are 70 million egyptians. so it's not surprising that reports of his capture yesterday turned out to be wrong. the guy has already been reported killed twice. i guess they just keep getting the wrong egyptian.
maybe they should stick with calling him "abu ayyub". but that might not be much better. i'm not sure how many ayyubs there are in the arab world, and how many of them have fathers who are still living.
