precious ramotswe is stalking me

several weeks ago, i was at a party where two people were talking about this series of detective novels set in botswana. i had never heard of the series before, it seemed rather obscure. one of the people talking about the series at the party studies botswana, so i figured it wasn't something that had much of a fan base beyond the limited pool of botswana aficionados. but ever since then, references to the series have been popping up all over the place.
