retaliatory strike

the times of london reported yesterday that the iranians will fire missiles are israel's nuclear facility in dimona if israel strikes iran. one of the worst-kept secrets in the world is that dimona is where israel keeps its arsenal of nuclear weapons.

honestly, it makes perfect sense to me that iran would do that. if israel attacks iran's nuclear facilities, why wouldn't iran strike back? as it is, iran in the one showing restraint as they have the israeli facility targeted, but aren't firing unless they get attacked first. if israel does attack iran, they would be stupid not to expect some kind of retaliation.

i wonder how accurate these shahab-3B missiles are. can they really target and hit the israeli nuclear facility from that far away? and what happens to nuclear weapons when they are hit by a conventional explosive? would that set them off? and, on the flip side, could bombing an iranian nuclear facility at whatever stage it is at now cause a nuclear explosion?

yet another reason to stay out of the negev this august. (the first reason being that it's freaking august!)
