i haven't read
ron paul's book, but i don't completely get the movement to abolish the federal reserve. the fed was established in 1913 and the period between then and now corresponds with an unprecedented explosion of economic growth. in 1912, the u.s. was not a dominant economic power in the world (although it was a significant player). now it is an economic superpower. i haven't tried to puzzle through all of the arguments against the fed's existence, but it seems like any case would have to get past that rather compelling historic counter-example.
