on the other hand, like joshua kucera, i wonder why azerbaijan would allow an israeli attack to originate from its territory. i'm sure they think the $1.6 billion arms agreement is great, but they still have to live next to iran. if iran starts seeing azerbaijan as little more than an appendage of israel (much like the israeli view that hezbollah is little more than an appendage of iran), they would be inviting all kinds of trouble from a larger more powerful neighbor.
