any time you don't buy something you wish someone dead

the above advertisement (click for a clearer view) from the david horowitz freedom center appeared in the print edition of today's new york times. it's part of horowitz's current jihad against the "boycott, divest and sanction israel" movement. as the ad says "The Holocaust began with boycotts of Jewish stores and ended with death camps..." thus suggesting that the ultimate aim of people advocating a boycott of israeli products is to slaughter jews.

meanwhile, horowitz's freedom center has described all four rounds of economic sanctions that have been imposed on iran to be "severely underwhelming." even though the iranian sanctions are far broader than anything advocated by the movement to boycott israeli products, the organization calls for even harsher action against iran. so logically david horowitz's ultimate goal is death camps for all persians.

this is related to my broader realization that there are different views about what made the holocaust bad. i think it was bad because it involved the oppression and slaughter of people. others seem to think it was bad because it involved the oppression and slaughter of jews.
