the dutch boy's solution

months ago, i made reference to the wolfson economics prize, a £250,000 prize for the best plan for a country to leave the euro. this week, the judges announced the five finalists (pdf). they also gave special honorable mention to an entry submitted by a 10 year old from holland:

the boy's explanation for his drawing is here (pdf) (the pdf also an even bigger and clearer version of the drawing, plus a photo of the smiling 10-year old economists). personally, i think he should win just for that picture of the sad greek at the bottom.
