after reading the news, i went to the MNLA's web site to read the declaration of independence myself. i find it interesting that the site has three languages, french, english, and arabic, and not tamasheq or any other tuareg language. (though the banner at the very top of the page does give the group's name in what looks like tamasheq).
in fact, the organization only really seems to be keeping up the french and arabic versions of the site. the declaration is posted only in those two languages. the last communique displayed the english version of the site was posted on february 22, 2012, a good month before the coup in mali and before the MNLA captured any of the major cities in northern mali.
i guess that says something about their intended audience.
