the star of my very first real blog posttm1started emailing me out of the blue this week. i'm surprised he remembered me, even more surprised that he still had my email address. he's living in the same part of the country he was when i visited mali in 2001. unfortunately, that part of mali is now pretty close to the de facto border between government-controlled mali and rebel-controlled azawad.
