the disadvantage of not releasing more tax returns is that any theory about what he is trying to hide can get play in the media. the longer it goes on, the worse people start imagining the secrets in the undisclosed returns might be. so the day before yesterday i was assuming that romney paid zero taxes on at least some of the undisclosed years. today, i'm thinking that he took a swiss bank account amnesty to avoid criminal prosecution in 2009.
if this continues, who knows what nefarious dealings we will hypothesize next!
