how do professional bobble heads do it? i got tired of thinking and talking about paul ryan by mid-day saturday. and now, two days later, they are still going strong. meanwhile something really interesting is happening in egypt, but the american political class is mostly ignoring it. then again, i don't have much to say about it because it's too soon to tell how it will shake out.
not that i expect american commentators to be able to say much interesting about the interestingness of egypt if they ever bothered to take their eye off the ryan ball. our entire conversation about anything political that happens in that country is always only in terms of "is this good for israel?" when you cram everything into that framework, it wrings out a lot of interesting.
meanwhile, amid all the ryan talk, i only learned about another shooting on an american college campus by reading the guardian.
