i'm starting to see other people post about one of my pet theories: that the primary victims of the misinformation served by fox news and the rest of the conservative media establishment are conservatives. see, for example, friedersdorf, rosenberg, pareene, marcotte, drum, rosario, grindley, leonard, nexon, bookman, and benedikt.
this dynamic was evident before tuesday's vote. again and again, the romney campaign itself seemed to be making decisions based on bogus information reported by the rightwing press. i don't know if this is finally the reckoning i posted about in early october, or if the right will somehow retreat deeper into their bubble and continue to handicap their own chances in the future.
