i realize it makes me sound like a snot and also that i already ranted about this last year, but it still offends me that most people don't seem to know how to make an achievable new year's resolution. resolutions should (1) be process-oriented rather than goal-oriented (e.g. "i will stop eating muffins every morning" rather than "i will lose five pounds"), (2) clearly define what you can and can't do to abide by the resolution, and (3) include an expiration date (with the option to renew). just about everyone breaks rule #1, and so they never even get close to #2 or 3.
