Terrorism

Considering that the Las Vegas shooting was motivated by the shooters political beliefs, it pretty clearly meets the definition of "terrorism." (see 22 U.S. §2656f(d)(2) for the definition under U.S. law)

Imagine, if you will, if instead of yelling "this is the start of a revolution!" and draping the bodies of their victims with a Gladsen flag, the perpetrators had yelled "allahu akbar!" and draped the bodies with a raayat al-sawda. If that was how it happened, is there there any doubt that everyone would be calling them "terrorists" now?

ADDING: Juan Cole's almost 2 year old post "Top Ten Differences Between White Terrorists and Others" seems particularly apt.
