When I lived in the Midwest a topic of endless conversation was which states are "midwestern" and which are not. Finally, someone has used science to make a map:

The darker red bits are pretty much what I view as the Midwest. Some of the more ghostly places are crazy though. Pennsylvania? Texas? Louisiana? Mississippi? Alabama? Idaho? Colorado? Montana? Anywhere in Canada? Every one of those is nuts.
Now I want to see someone do the same thing for the Mideast.
