If you asked me when I woke up this morning, I would have said there was a fairly good, better than even, chance that the Supreme Court would take away subsidies from people who get their insurance through the federal exchange. No matter how dumb the plaintiffs' argument was, I just thought the current results oriented conservative court was going to manufacture the result it wanted.
But now, just a half day
after the decision came down I can't believe I ever thought the plaintiffs could win. Does this mean I have gotten less cynical about the court? Can a single decision really reverse an opinion formed over the last decade of court-watching?
