I just don't get the freakout about Russia's efforts to send aid to the side in the Syrian civil war that it favors. Isn't that what everyone is doing, including the U.S.?
Yes, Assad is a terrible leader. But there are lots of terrible sides in that conflict and at least Assad is fighting ISIS which (I think) is worse. And America apparently agrees! It is only bombing ISIS, not Assad's forces. In fact, there have been various reports now and then that the U.S. might be cooperating with Assad's military in its bombing raids to make sure they don't accidentally attack each other. Why is that so different from sending Assad tanks?
Is the problem with Russia aiding Assad's regime that aid is going to Assad or that Russia is doing it?
