Lots of people have remarked about how when a person of middle eastern descent (or who has a Muslim-sounding name) commits some violent act it is always reported as terrorism, but when a white person does some violent act it is reported as a lone mentally disturbed individual. That pattern is holding pretty solid now.
The Planned Parenthood shooting meets any definition of "terrorism," or at least any one that doesn't limit the definition to Muslims. But that ethnic-based notion is the public's implicit definition of terrorism. In the end, the implicit definition wins the day.
