That's what I was wondering. Could it be that this couple was planning to eventually do some big attack, but before they got around to it, the guy got pissed off at his office Christmas party, so he ran home, grabbed his wife and weapons, and decided to ditch whatever terrorism plans he had to do some classic American workplace violence instead?

I know it sounds far-fetched, but that's what the evidence looks like to me right now.
