I wonder when is the last time that Kazakhstan had a non-snap election? Since I started really following its politics (i.e. since 2009), KZ has had several elections, but I think they all were called earlier than the original scheduled time.
There's nothing inherently wrong with that. The KZ system does allow for calling early elections. It's just that coming from an American perspective (our system mostly does not allow snap elections), it seems strange that the government calls early elections so often. I would think there would be circumstances when the government would want to put them off.
