I'm just curious, does anyone know when the British Monarch stopped being allowed to have political opinions?
The British King (and occasional ruling Queen) used to take political positions back when they actually made political decisions. Eventually political power shifted to parliament and the monarch became a figure head. There must have been some point in the process when the fact that a monarch has views on stuff went from being a given to being a no-no. When exactly was that?
