This proves once again that Nazarbeyev is a much savvier leader than all the other post-soviet autocrats. I really thought this would end with a growing popular movement, followed by a crackdown. In times of growing economic security among the Kazakhstani people, Nazarbeyev was perceptive enough not to follow the region's usual script.
