why are people excited about this?

Of all the unprecedented things that the Trump administration is doing/will do, the one that bothers me the least is the fact that his daughter will have a prominent role in his administration. Sure, Ivanka brings with her some extra conflicts of interest, which are a real issue. But Ivanka's conflicts just are a subset of her father's massive conflicts. Ivanka herself doesn't bring any unique new problem to the administration. Her role really isn't the issue.
