So that weird mysterious resignation and then disappearance  of Saad Hariri a few months back turned out to be exactly what most people guessed: it was a ham-handed gambit to marginalize Hezbollah by the Saudi crown prince. It is still not clear how the Saudis thought the plan would possibly work without everyone in the world seeing what they were doing.
