Silly Georgians

These guys don’t get how it works. State governments offer generous tax breaks to lure companies like Delta to do business in their state. It’s a gross corporate giveaway, but the general consensus is that the power is all in the corproation’s hands, not the local government’s. That’s why the corporations are able to play localities off of one another, getting them to try to compete over giving more generous subsidies even when the benefit of the company doing business there will never be enough to pay for the subsidy. Cutting off Delta’s tax break might just get them to start looking at other cities for their main air hub, maybe in a state that won’t go this crazy just because the company wants to charge the gun nuts the same fares as everyone else.

ADDING: I bet Atlanta is off of Amazon's short list now.
