Flake's Legacy

I like how Jeff Flake spent the last two years to protect his legacy as the GOP's anti-Trump Cassandra, but instead he is now universally remembered by both the Trumpies and the Resistance as the fraud with the powers of a U.S. Senator who talked big but never actually did anything.

(It isn't even true! Flake did a few things. He delayed the Kavanaugh vote by a week, and he effectively scuttled Mitch McConnell's efforts to shove through a bunch of judicial appointments during the 2018 lame duck session. But those examples of Flake using the powers of his office in the last 3 months of his term only serves to emphasize all of the times he didn't use those powers notwithstanding his rhetoric about how Trump poses an imminent danger to the Republic.)
