I'm getting tired of people referring to the corona virus as the first crisis Trump has faced that is not of his own making. In fact that already happened in the first year of his presidency.
Trump's Katrina happened in September 2017. Trump was mocked for tossing those paper towels, handing out contracts to rebuild the electrical grid to a fake electrical company run by one of his supporter, and getting into a silly spat with the PR governor, and then... nothing. The devastation compounded by gross incompetence was buried by all the other Trump-era craziness, aided by the fact that most Americans don't view Puerto Rico as real America and don't particularly identify with Puerto Ricans.
